We video review the all new Suzuki Swift Hybrid.
The Suzuki Swift hybrid is the most recent addition to the Suzuki Swift family, and in fact the entire Suzuki automotive line up. And that makes it exciting on at least three counts. In fact, Suzuki New Zealand has been sitting on the hybrid model out of Europe since just before lockdown, but chose to keep it under wraps until such time as the market could accept the product for the amazing machine that it is.
The fuel efficiency comes about in this case thanks to the integrated starter generator which works as an assist mechanism for the internal combustion engine – a modified version of the tried and true 1.2-litre engine which has served the Swift so well for so long.
Efficiency is only part of the package, however. The Swift hybrid – like all New Zealand new Swifts – is a 5-star safety rated vehicle and is equipped with advanced safety features including lane departure warning, weave assist, a reversing camera and much more besides.
The hybrid also carries the subtly sophisticated styling cues and the contemporary looks of the current standard Swift and the super-hot Sports version without screaming its green credentials from the rooftops.
Though there is plenty of reason to raise its voice. The Suzuki Swift Hybrid returns a 4.1 litre per 100km fuel figure and does so with out the driver having to put an eggshell under the accelerator.
In fact the way to get the most out of the Swift hybrid is to just drive it like a normal car, let the engine stop start – which is quite possibly the best you’ll ever use – do its thing to save unwanted fuel use at idle.
For an ultra-fuel efficient, five star safety rated solution to your personal or corporate vehicle question, here’s the secret: Sshhh…the Suzuki Swift Hybrid.
