Tool of design for the smart moving tool of trade

Auto Transform has formally launched its Online Vehicle Configurator – which was indicated in the last edition of NZ Company Vehicle magazine – and it’s already shown results…

The Online Vehicle Configurator is designed to allow Auto Transform customers to develop smart moving solutions for themselves in the comfort of their own office/home.

There’s no special software or passcodes: jump onto the Auto Transform website, press the button which says, ‘configure your fit-out’ and start configuring your vehicle.

It really is just that easy.

Once your configuration is set up, you can review and modify your fit-out since the components are all priced and with their weights listed to ensure payload integrity is maintained.

You can then save your configuration for forwarding to Auto Transform as an enquiry.

Affording access to the extensive product range offered by Auto Transform, the Online Configurator has the more common models of utes available to the New Zealand buyer in its database.

Developing the configurator took a considerable amount of time, but as Josh Stanners of Auto Transform points out “collecting the data needed for this project was always going to be challenging, but we’re pleased with the result and we’re sure our customers are going to appreciate the benefits the Online Configurator has to offer.”

The vehicle representation is extremely detailed and the ability to present everything in a three-dimensional image which can be viewed from any angle AND be able to zoom in and out with the flick of a mouse wheel is extremely impressive. Fun too!
If it doesn’t look right the first time, just take the item away and try it again. You can even fit underbody accessories.

Combined, the ute and Auto Transform datasets add up to a formidable amount of information and bringing them together makes it considerably easier for a customer to understand what the results will look like.

“For our customers who would find it difficult – geographically speaking – to visit the showroom, being able to see their vehicle rendered in a three-dimensional image at their place of work and from the convenience of their own computer, makes it easier for them to specify what they want to make their business move smarter,” says Josh.

Once the appropriate fitout components have been selected and the customer is happy with the design, it’s simply a case of getting the vehicle to Auto Transform so work can start on the design.

“Of course, we contact the customer ahead of that time,” says Josh, “to ensure component availability and anticipated delivery timing, but also to make sure everything is set up the way it should be.

“There may also be some ‘fine tuning’ we can advise on, based on our years of experience of doing tool-of-trade vehicle fit-outs.”

The Online Configurator is a handy tool for Auto Transform customers, but it is not the only one.

“Prior to the Online Configurator being available,” explains Josh, “the only way our customers could see what was available was through our catalogue or by visiting the showroom.

“Those options are still available obviously and our sales team is always happy to meet with our customers one-on-one, be that at our premises or theirs.

“The Online Configurator just makes things a little easier for our customers and making things easy – as well as making moving smarter – is what we do here at Auto Transform.”
